Tell me about the brand
The more specific you are about why this brand fits your audience, the better the generated pitch.
๐งฐ Scripts for the hard moments โ copy, tweak, send
Sponsor talk has a few moments that are genuinely hard to word from scratch. These are ready to send as-is โ swap anything in [BRACKETS], adjust a line if you want, done.
Polite decline โ it isn't a fit
Hi [NAME],
Thank you for thinking of me โ I read the whole brief, and I can tell care went into it.
I'm going to pass on this one. It isn't quite the right fit for my audience, and I only take partnerships I can genuinely stand behind โ that keeps my recommendations worth something, including to partners like you.
If a future campaign leans closer to [YOUR NICHE], I'd be glad to take another look.
Thanks again for reaching out,

Raise your rate โ counter-offer
Hi [NAME],
Thanks for the offer โ I'd genuinely like to work with [BRAND].
My rate for this scope is [RATE]. That covers concepting, filming, editing, and a dedicated slot in front of an audience that already trusts what I recommend โ that trust is what you're booking.
If [RATE] fits your budget, I can have everything delivered by [DATE]. If the budget is fixed, I'm happy to propose a smaller package that fits it instead.
Looking forward to it,
[YOUR NAME]
Ask for clarification โ pin down the deal
Hi [NAME],
I'm interested โ and before I confirm, I want to make sure I understand the deliverables. Could you clarify:
1. Deliverables โ exactly what content, how many pieces, on which platforms?
2. Exclusivity โ can I work with similar brands during the campaign, and for how long after?
3. Usage rights โ will [BRAND] reuse my content in ads, where, and for how long?
4. Payment terms โ the amount, the currency, and when it's paid (net 15? net 30?)
5. Deadline โ when does each piece need to go live?
Once I have these, you'll get a quick yes and a timeline from me.

Gentle follow-up โ the 7-day nudge
Hi [NAME],
Just floating my pitch from [DATE] back to the top of your inbox โ I know launch seasons get busy.
I'm still keen on working with [BRAND]. If the timing isn't right this quarter, no worries at all โ happy to reconnect whenever it makes sense on your end.
Either way, thanks for your time,
[YOUR NAME]
Scope-creep pushback โ outside what we agreed
Hi [NAME],
Happy to talk this through. The extra [REQUEST] sits outside what we agreed for this collab ([DELIVERABLES]), so it isn't covered by the current rate.
If it matters to the campaign, I can absolutely add it โ as a paid addition at [RATE], delivered by [DATE]. Say the word and I'll send over an updated agreement.
Otherwise I'll keep everything moving exactly as planned.

Offer a multi-creator bundle โ bigger buy, easier yes
Hi [NAME],
One more idea before you decide: I work closely with [CREATOR 2] and [CREATOR 3], and we could package this as a multi-creator bundle โ [DELIVERABLE] from each of us, one contract, one invoice, [COMBINED REACH] combined reach.
Brands usually find the bundle the efficient buy: several distinct audiences and voices for less than separate deals would cost. Happy to send a one-pager with everyone's stats.

Re-engage after ghosting โ no hard feelings
Hi [NAME],
Closing the loop on my pitch about [CAMPAIGN] โ I know priorities shift, and that's completely fine.
If it's paused or went another direction, a one-line "not right now" is all I need and I'll step back, no hard feelings. If it's still alive, I'm ready to pick it up whenever you are.
Wishing you a smooth launch either way,
[YOUR NAME]
๐ฉ Before you sign โ red flags & the pre-yes checklist
Walk away โ or renegotiate โ if a deal has any of these:
- Unpaid "exposure" deals. Your time is money โ the one hard floor in this whole game is: never work for free.
- A cut of your overall revenue. A manager or agent takes ~10% of the deals they bring you โ never a slice of everything you earn.
- Overly long contracts or no exit clause. Always have a way out, in writing.
- Broad or long exclusivity. The standard package includes about 1 month of category exclusivity. Longer is a paid lever โ and long lockouts are only worth signing for brands you genuinely love.
- Friends or family as your manager/agent. Not once money is involved.
- Auto-reject categories: crypto/NFT, gambling, NSFW โ plus "brands" that are actually sellers pitching you their services.
- Disguised text (๐๐จ๐ฅ๐-style Unicode letters) in an offer โ a common trick to slip past scam filters.
And before any yes:
- Understand exactly how the integration fits your content โ if the talking points don't fit your voice, it's not a fit.
- Test the product before you promote it.
- Read the contract for exactly what they want you to say.
- Pin down deliverables, exclusivity, usage rights, payment terms, and deadlines in writing โ the clarification script above does it in one message.
๐ฐ Negotiation cheat sheet โ know your levers
- Never accept the first offer. You are the brand โ they need you more than you need them.
- Price the package, not the platform. A typical single sponsorship bundles a ~2-hr sponsored segment on Twitch + YouTube, an IG story, a TikTok/Reel, and 1 month of exclusivity.
- Longer exclusivity, paid-ads usage rights, and rush turnaround are all paid levers โ the Rate Calculator prices each one.
- Multi-creator bundle: 2โ3 creators as one buy is typically worth 2โ3ร a solo rate โ one contract, several audiences. There's a pitch type and a copy-paste script for it above.
- Branded-asset angle: pitching a co-branded product (custom plushie, cup, flavor, skin) beats a plain ad read โ concrete, brand-specific ideas are the highest-scoring element of any application.
- Renewal beats new-brand hunting. Keep using the product and stay in touch after the deal โ an easy re-up costs nothing to land.
- Follow-up cadence: nudge on day 3, day 7, day 14 โ then send the polite close-out script. A clean pipeline is part of the job.
